Foodbank New South Wales

Our Mission

Foodbank NSW is a not-for-profit, non-denominational organisation which collects surplus, salvaged and donated food and grocery products from food manufacturers, distributors & retailers and distributes it via charitable welfare agencies, to people in need.

Foodbank's vision is "An Australia Without Hunger"

Did you know that in Australia

  • A staggering 2 million people rely on food relief at some point every year
  • A million of these hungry are children
  • The evidence of hunger is mostly hidden
  • The facts confirm that the need is growing, particularly amongst the working poor and elderly

Despite Australia's strong economy we are not immune and hunger does exist in surprising numbers in every state, in urban as well as rural communities, in all age groups, and in nuclear families as well as single parent households.

Last year Australia wide saw Foodbank distribute 16 million kilograms of donated food to those in need and Foodbank continues it's endeavours in seeking out available and surplus food donations to maintain the link to people in need.

Hopefully we are moving closer to achieving an "Australia Without Hunger".

All donations to Foodbank NSW over $2.00 and all food donations are tax deductible.
