City2Surf 2015: Conquered by Team Foodbank!

Home / Foodbank Heroes / City2Surf 2015: Conquered by Team Foodbank!
August 20, 2015

On a chilly winter’s morning, our dedicated team of 12 Hunger Fighters took their places alongside over 81,000 others at the starting line of the 2015 Sun-Herald City2Surf. Team Foodbank was a mix of staff and our supporters all out there to raise awareness and support for Foodbank NSW & ACT and to achieve some personal goals along the way.

Although it wasn’t a competition and everyone in the team was a star, we do need to give a special thanks to the team from Labourforce, led by CEO Regan Brown and Executive Assistant Nada Macias. Not only did the Labourforce team walk hard, they fundraised hard as well and the company matched all the donations they received! We couldn’t have done it without their support!

It was a huge effort and in total Team Foodbank raised $5,500 which is a fantastic result and it means that we can now provide 5,500 breakfasts to the 1 in 7 children in Australia who go to school hungry every day. If you missed the chance to donate to someone in the team and you would still like to please visit our Everyday Hero donation page.

Thank you to everyone who got behind the team with a donation, a pat on the back, or a cheer from the sidelines. It was a great day, lots of fun, and very satisfying to kick those personal goals. See you next year!
