  • Or individuals

Foodbank looks to develop relationships at all levels of an organisation and establish key contacts across all divisions, business units and production facilities. The aim is to identify every opportunity for food donations within the company.

Protection from civil liability is afforded to food donors in NSW[1] and the ACT[2] where food is donated in good faith for a charitable purpose, with the intention that the person being given the food will not have to pay for it, and the food was safe to eat at the time it left the possession or control of the donor.  Food donors have an obligation to inform the recipient of any relevant handling requirements for the food, such as whether the food needs to be refrigerated.  If the food is only safe to consume for a limited period, the donor has an obligation to inform the recipient at the relevant time.  Accordingly, food donors, namely individuals and business, who donate food for a charitable purpose and with the intention that the consumer of the food does not have to pay for the food, will be afforded protection from civil liability.

Donating reduces the cost of dumping, transport and administration and all donations are fully tax-deductible.

Foodbank NSW & ACT is located at 50 Owen Street Glendenning NSW 2761.
