Foodbank NSW & ACT is a charity who operate with a skeleton staff. We rely entirely on the daily support and “helping hands” of  volunteers who assist us in our Distribution Centre.

Volunteering at Foodbank NSW & ACT means you’ll make a meaningful contribution, meet new people, and most of all help Foodbank NSW & ACT help provide 6.6 million meals a year.

Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 2pm. We are not open on the weekend. The bulk of the work opportunities are in the warehouse.

  • Warehouse duties include: picking and packing of food orders and other general light warehouse functions.
  • Volunteers can also give provide Foodbank with administration help (these roles are limited).
  • Volunteers should wear casual clothes and MUST wear closed shoes for safety.
  • The warehouse operates under OH&S and Food Safety rules and is covered by Public Liability Insurance.

We provide a clean, safe and happy work environment and are always seeking volunteers to help us cope with the increasing demand from the charities we serve.

Work for the dole and Corrective Services, rehabilitation programs can also volunteer at Foodbank NSW & ACT. We support the people in these programs with the desire that by helping us to feed others they will gain skills, hope and confidence.
